More information about Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal DO - Santa Ema

The barrel-aged Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal from the wine-growing region of Valle Central presents itself in the glass in dense purple. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Chile shows wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, mulberry, black currant and blueberry, rounded off by gingerbread spice, vanilla and cinnamon contributed by aging in wooden barrels.

The Santa Ema Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the upper price range, this Chilean naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. This dense and fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate full of pressure and facets. In the finish, this storable red wine from the wine-growing region Valle Central finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of black currant and blueberry.

Vinification of the Santa Ema Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal

The basis for the powerful Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal from Valle Central are grapes from the Carmenère grape variety. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal is aged for another 8 months in barriques and large oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Carmenère Gran Reserva Valle del Cachapoal of Santa Ema

Experience this red wine from Chile ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs or stuffed peppers.
