In the small Italian village of Cazzano di Tramigna in the region of Verona there is the Casa Vinicola Bennati winery of the Bennati family. Its historical roots go back to 1870, when Antonio Bennati was born. He was the first Bennati to cultivate wine and sell it in the region at the end of the 19th century.
His son Annibale took over his father's business and in 1920 he registered the winery publicly under the name Cantina Bennati. In addition, he bought further hectares of land north of Cazzano and thus expanded the family business. With the support of his sons Ezi and Aldo, who joined the winery after the Second World War, Annibale was able to expand the Casa Vinicola Bennati range to include all Veronese wines.
At the end of the 1980s, Antonio, Paolo and Gorgio Bennati were the fourth generation to take over the company. At that time as well as today the constant striving for quality of the wines produced here is in the foreground. This quality is the key to the success of the estate: Bennati's wines are very popular both nationally and internationally.
