More information about Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 1,5 l Magnum - Tenuta di CastelGiocondo

The powerful Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l magnum from Tenuta di CastelGiocondo shines in the glass with a dense ruby red color. With a little sideways movement, the Bordeaux glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. If you give it a little air in the wine glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from Italy reveals wonderfully elegant aromas of violet, lavender, plum and mulberry, rounded off by vanilla, juniper and black tea, which are contributed by the ageing in wooden barrels.

On the palate, the Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l Magnum from Tenuta di CastelGiocondo opens wonderfully dry, full-bodied and aromatic. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the second group, as it was bottled with only 1.9 g of residual sugar. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l Magnum is pleasing to the palate without lacking freshness. The finish of this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Tuscany, more precisely from Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, ultimately delights with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Tenuta di CastelGiocondo Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l Magnum

This powerful red wine from Italy is made from the Sangiovese grape variety. The grapes for the Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l Magnum are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After manual harvesting, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l Magnum is aged for 28 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels. The ageing in wooden barrels is followed by extensive bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Dining recommendations for the Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 l Magnum from Tenuta di CastelGiocondo

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at 15 - 18°C with rocket penne, lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs or a blackberry and cream dessert.
