The Castell Macabeu Chardonnay from Clos Montblanc in Catalonia reveals a brilliant, pale yellow color in the swirled glass. This Spanish cuvée flatters in the glass wonderfully expressive notes of mangoes, pomelo, pineapple and guava. These are joined by hints of other fruits.
The Clos Montblanc Castell Macabeu Chardonnay presents itself to the wine lover wonderfully dry. This white wine is never coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the upper price range. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Catalonia finally inspires with beautiful length. Once again, hints of star fruit and mango show through.
Vinification of the Castell Macabeu Chardonnay from Clos Montblanc
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully elegant cuvée Castell Macabeu Chardonnay from Clos Montblanc are Chardonnay and Viura grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and gently broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
