The basis for the balanced Castiglioni Chianti from Tuscany are grapes from the Merlot and Sangiovese grape varieties. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand once optimum ripeness has been ensured. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
