The Liventi Catarratto Zibibbo from the wine-growing region of Sicily is brilliantly shimmering in the glass. In the glass, this white wine from Vaccaro presents aromas of lime, orange blossom, jasmine, grapefruit and orange, complemented by garrigue, Mediterranean herbs and juniper. This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with just 4.2 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine at the upper end of the price range, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. This melting, light and crisp white wine is light-footed and multi-layered on the palate. The balanced fruit acidity gives the Liventi Catarratto Zibibbo a velvety mouthfeel without lacking freshness. The finish of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Sicily is delightfully long. There are again hints of lemon and orange.
Vinification of the Catarratto Zibibbo from Vaccaro
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully elegant Catarratto Zibibbo cuvée from Vaccaro are Catarratto and Muscat d'Alexandrie grapes. The grapes for the Catarratto Zibibbo are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the aid of coarse and less selective machines. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for a few months before the wine is finally bottled.
