The barrel-aged Cathedral Cellar Chardonnay Western Cape from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape offers itself in the glass in dense golden yellow. The nose of this KWV white wine presents all sorts of kumquats, grapefruit, jasmine, lemons and oranges. As if that wasn't already impressive, toasted barrique, oak and cigar box join the mix due to the aging in small wooden barrels.

On the palate, KWV's Cathedral Cellar Chardonnay Western Cape starts off pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the palate, the texture of this punchy white wine is wonderfully light and crisp. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Cathedral Cellar Chardonnay Western Cape presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape finally inspires with good length. Hints of grapefruit and grapefruit are again evident.
