Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2019 - Villa Maria
The Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc from Villa Maria expresses the style of a Marlborough Sauvignon in an intensely expressive way. This white wine convinces with its typical terroir fruity-fresh aromas. A powerful and refined drop with lively aromas and freshness!
This organic white wine shines in a bright straw yellow with greenish shades. On the surface there are opulent aromas of gooseberries and ripe limes, which are refined with notes of lychees, tropical fruits and herbaceous nuances. On the palate, this New Zealand white wine captivates with its dense fruitiness. A wonderfully long finish with racy acidity and much lively freshness rounds off this wine.
Vinification of the Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc from Villa Maria
The grapes are harvested carefully in the cool hours of the night. This guarantees the preservation of the original, aromatic fruit and freshness of the grapes. After the harvest, the grapes are vinified in the winery, separated by parcel. This results in a maximum of possibilities for the subsequent winery selection, i.e. the Cellar Selection. After the gentle pressing of the grapes, the musts are carefully removed and placed in a cool place so that the lees can settle. This is followed by cool fermentation, which preserves the maximum fruit and aroma freshness of the grapes. Once fermentation is complete, the wines are left on the yeasts for a few months. The result is a dense texture and fullness on the palate. The wines are then drawn off and the cellar master marries them to the Final Blend, which is finally smoothed and filtered and bottled.
Food recommendation for the Villa Maria Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc
This dry white wine from New Zealand is a wonderful accompaniment to tender spring leek, asparagus fried in olive oil with parmesan slices, scallops fried for a short time with tarragon dressing on rocket or red snapper fried in a pan.
