More information
In the glass, the Cépage Syrah from Domaine Gayda shows a bright purple color. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World shows wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, blackberry, mulberry and black currant, rounded off by vanilla, gingerbread spice and black tea, which the aging in wooden barrels contributes.
The Domaine Gayda Cépage Syrah presents itself to the wine lover wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or meager, but round and smooth. Balanced and complex, this powerful red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Cépage Syrah flatters with a velvety mouthfeel, without at the same time lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this youthful red from the Languedoc wine region finally inspires with beautiful length. Again, hints of blackberry and mulberry show. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by slate and limestone join in.
Vinification of the Domaine Gayda Cépage Syrah
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Syrah. Only the best grape material was used for this exceptionally balanced single varietal wine from Domaine Gayda. In Languedoc, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone, slate, granite and sandstone. After the grape harvest, the grapes go immediately to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Cépage Syrah is aged for another 3 months in French oak barrels.
