More information about Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin AOP - Jean Tardy

In the glass, the Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin of Jean Tardy shows a bright light red color. After the first swirl, one can perceive a first-rate balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out on the glass walls as watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. This single varietal French wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries and black currants in the glass. These are joined by hints of black cherry.

On the palate, Jean Tardy's Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin starts pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgundy, more precisely from Cote de Nuits and Haute Cotes de Nuits, finally convinces with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Jean Tardy Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin

The balanced Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin from France is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Pinot Noir grape variety. Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this French wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of Old World wines. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the elegant Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin is aged for several more months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Champerrier Gevrey-Chambertin by Jean Tardy

This French red wine is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes, vegetable couscous with beef meatballs or stuffed peppers.
