Chardonnay 2018 - Chateau Ste. Michelle
The powerful and spicy Chardonnay from Chateau Ste. Michelle comes from the American wine-growing region Columbia State.
In the glass this wine shines in a bright straw yellow with light golden reflections. This American white wine seduces with elegant aromas reminiscent of juicy citrus fruits and discreet bananas. This bouquet is underlined by delicately spicy barrel notes. This white wine is juicy, spicy and powerful on the palate with a lively freshness and soft acidity. The wood is perfectly integrated. The aromatic citrus fruit is accompanied by fine herbal notes (thyme). The elegant finish has a beautiful length.
Vinification of Chardonnay Chateau Ste. Michelle
At optimal ripeness, the Chardonnay grapes are harvested in the Columbia Valley - Washington State. The grapes are immediately brought to the wine cellar where they are gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. After the alcoholic fermentation process, this white wine undergoes biological acid decomposition. Finally this white wine rests for 6 months on the fine yeast in barrels of American and French oak (10% new wood). During the ageing process, the yeast is regularly stirred (bâtonnage).
