The Chardonnay Vigna San Francesco Contea di Sclafani DOC by Tenuta Regaleali from the Tasca d' Almerita winery shines intensely golden yellow with greenish reflections in the glass. The nose reveals complex aromas of pineapple, apple and peach, complemented by undertones of pear, candied pineapple, white chocolate, hazelnut and brioche. On the palate, this Sicilian Chardonnay delights with its elegant structure, fullness and balance, supported by a natural, pleasant acidity. The finish is long, harmonious, soft and creamy.

Vinification of the Cru Chardonnay Vigna S. Francesco Contea di Sclafani from Tasca d' Almerita
This wonderful Sicilian white wine is made from 100% Chardonnay, the vines for which grow on former river bottoms on the slopes of the hill of San Francesco on deep, clayey, slightly calcareous sandy soils that give the wine structure, spice and freshness.
After harvesting at the beginning of September, fermentation is carried out in French oak barrels of 350 litres at a controlled temperature for a period of 15 days. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out completely. The wine is then fully aged for 8 months in 350 l barrels of Allier and Troncais, 70% new and 30% in second use, and then matured for another 6 months in the bottle.
This Chardonnay Cru is the result of a vision. More than 30 years ago, Lucio Tasca planted the San Francesco vineyard with the world's most famous white Chardonnay grape variety at 530 m above sea level in the middle of Sicily, at the Regaleali winery.
