The elegant Chardonnay Reserve from Weingut Krug shines in the glass with bright golden yellow. This single varietal Austrian wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of pears, quince, pineapple and nashi pear in the glass. These are joined by hints of whole-nut chocolate, brittle and roasted hazelnut.
On the palate, the Chardonnay Reserve from Weingut Krug opens delightfully dry, grippy and aromatic. The finale of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from Thermenregion, finally thrills with beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Chardonnay Reserve from Winery Krug
The balanced Chardonnay Reserve from Austria is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Chardonnay grape variety. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Chardonnay Reserve can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months....
