In the glass, the Chardonnay Ried Steinbachberg from the pen of Meinhardt Hube reveals a bright golden yellow color. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from the Old World shows wonderfully expressive aromas of ripe apple and pear, rounded off by minerality contributed by aging in wooden barrels.
On the palate, the Chardonnay Ried Steinbachberg from Meinhardt Hube opens pleasantly dry, grippy and aromatic. On the tongue, this balanced white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp texture. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Styria finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of ripe apple and pear appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by limestone and sand join in.
Vinification of the Chardonnay Ried Steinbachberg by Meinhardt Hube
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Chardonnay. Only immaculate grape material was brought in for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Meinhardt Hube. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Styria. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sand and limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the elegant Chardonnay Ried Steinbachberg is aged for several months in oak barriques.
