The Château Castera Cru Bourgeois Médoc AOC from Château Castera immerses the glass in a deep, dark shining purple ruby red.
The elegant, finely spiced bouquet is dominated by dark fruits (ripe morello cherries, blackberries, black currants), violets, liquorice, gingerbread spices and the warm roasted aromas of barrique maturity (vanilla, toast).
On the palate there is a lot of fleshy dark fruit (prunes, black cherries) and spice. A powerful smooth feeling with swelling density, depth and structure spreads in the mouth. In the long, elegant finish the fine balance of strong fruit, ripe tannin and wonderfully integrated oak comes to the fore. It is already inviting at a young age, but has sufficient strength and potential to mature for a few years.
All in all, an excellent bourgeois with character that goes perfectly with stuffed aubergines or red peppers, lentils, white beans, braised or roasted lamb and beef with Mediterranean herbs, roast goose with gingerbread or prunes and medium-strong cheeses.
