Château Fontaréche was first mentioned in 984, when it was given as a fiefdom by the church to a nobleman. In the 14th century, first remarks about the viticulture around the château are found. At the end of the 17th century, the château then fell to the Mignard family, who are the direct ancestors of the current owners, the Lamy family.
The château has 145 hectares of vineyards, arranged in a perfect square around the estate. The oldest vines of the Carignan variety date back to 1962. 17 varieties of vines grow on the estate. The dry, Mediterranean climate provides perfect conditions for the vines.
The estate produces white, red and rosé wines, so that there is a wide range of possibilities to represent the different grape varieties. 984 was the first time Château Fontaréche was mentioned, when it was given by the church to a nobleman as a fiefdom.
