Château de Ricardelle – The Art of Unique French Winemaking
This small region in the Coteaux du Languedoc near to Narbonne is as unusual as its wines. The environmentally protected surrounding area of the Massif de la Clape, where unique flora and fauna thrive, is home to 1200 hectares of vineyards in the AOC of the same name.
Château Ricardelle has 45 of them under cultivation. The estate has belonged to the wine and sparkling wine merchant Bruno Pellegrini since 1989, who recognised the region’s enormous potential early on.
Beyond the flat, sandy landscape of the Languedoc, there are also are hilly areas with soil composed of chalk, gravel and sediment. Thanks to the longstanding experience of Pellegrini, the AOC wines from Château Ricardelle, cuvées made up of the Syrah, Grenache Noir and Carignan varieties, are amongst the most honoured wines in the region.
