Der Chenin Blanc von Simonsig ist der weiße Paradewein des Weingutes. Er erscheint in einem klaren Strohgelb mit grünlichen Reflexen im Glas. Sein Aroma ist geprägt vom kräftigen Duft vollreifer Aprikosen, Maracujas, Wassermelonen, Guaven und Birnen.

Am Gaumen zeigt sich der Simonsig Chenin Blanc mit schönem Schmelz und einer delikaten, gut eingebundenen Säure sowie einer schönen Harmonie zwischen Zucker und Alkohol.

Vinifikation des Simonsig Chenin Blanc

Der im Edelstahltank ausgebaute Chenin Blanc ist der erste Weißwein, den der Gründer von Simonsig, Frans Malan, 1968 gekeltert hat. Die Trauben für den Chenin Blanc werden von Hand gelesen, teilweise angepresst und über Nacht mit Hautkontakt gemaischt. Danach wird der Wein in Edelstahltanks mit speziellen Reinzuchthefen vergoren.
