Chianti Classico DOCG 2017 - Borgo Salcetino
The Chianti Classico DOCG from Borgo Salcetino convinces with an intense garnet colour, the bouquet is intense and reminiscent of cherries and raspberries; the taste is fruity, full-bodied, with good structure and strong, round, velvety tannins.
"The Chianti Classico '14 is undoubtedly one of the best of its vintage. It is also a complicated vintage, especially for Chianti Classico, but the interpretation provided by Borgo Salcetino has hit the mark. An ethereal, sophisticated fragrance with red berries, a hint of spices and notes of low bush. On the palate beautifully balanced and pleasantly nervy progression." (3 glasses, Gambero Rosso 2017)
Vinification of Borgo Salcetino Chianti Classico DOCG
The Sangiovese (95%) and Canaiolo (5%) grape varieties are cultivated in the vineyards of the municipality of Radda in Chianti on clayey and sandy soil. The grapes are harvested by hand. The maceration on the skins takes place for 18 days at a controlled temperature of 23° degrees. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, 70% in barriques and 30% in stainless steel tanks. The wine then remains in barrique for a further 12 months. Only then is the wine bottled and left for another time in the bottle before being put on the market.
Food pairing for the Chianti Classico DOCG by Borgo Salcetino

The wine can be stored for 6 to 10 years. Best serving temperature at 16° to 18°C.
