In the glass, the Chianti Superiore from Santa Cristina shows a bright ruby red color. This single-varietal Italian wine presents wonderfully complex notes of lilies, lilacs, plums and morello cherries in the glass. There are also hints of black tea, cinnamon and dark chocolate.
This red from Santa Cristina is just right for all wine enthusiasts who like it dry. However, it is never austere or brittle, as you would expect from a wine in the high quality range. On the palate, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety, melting and dense texture. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Chianti Superiore is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Tuscan wine-growing region finally impresses with its remarkable length. There are again hints of lily and rose.
Vinification of the Santa Cristina Chianti Superiore
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Sangiovese. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally well-balanced single-varietal wine from Santa Cristina. The grapes for this red wine from Italy are harvested exclusively by hand once optimum ripeness has been ensured. After the grape harvest, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by ageing for several months in French oak barrels.
Dining recommendations for the Chianti Superiore from Santa Cristina
This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with spaghetti with caper and tomato sauce, lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
