Cold Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 - Chateau Ste. Michelle
The Cold Creek Cabernet Sauvignon from Chateau Ste. Michelle is a wonderful, pure grape red wine from the Columbia Valley wine region in Washington State.
A deep, very dense purple red with violet highlights presents itself with this wine in the glass. The complex, fruity bouquet is marked by fine aromas of ripe blackberries, black currants, blackcurrants and black cherries. In addition there is a lot of spice - also mineral nuances - discreet hints of wood and some liquorice. With its juicy, soft and yet powerful body, this American red wine convinces the palate. The excellent structure is supported by noticeable, gently matured tannins. The present dark fruit accompanies until the long finish with fine fruit sweetness.
Vinification of Ste. Michelle Cabernet Sauvignon Cold Creek
The grapes for this red wine come from 35 year old vines growing on the Cold Creek vineyard. At optimal ripeness, the berries are harvested and immediately brought to the winery. There the grapes are first completely destemmed and then fermented. The mash is pumped over daily in the stainless steel tanks. Once the fermentation process is complete, 82% of this wine is aged in American (one third) and French (two thirds) oak barrels. The remaining 18% rest in stainless steel tanks.
Food recommendation for the Cold Creek Cabernet Ste Michelle
Enjoy this dry red wine from the USA with braised leg of lamb in a herb coat, Asian pork, pasta dishes in strong sauces or with spicy cheeses. We recommend that you decant this wine for at least an hour before enjoying it.
