More information about Collezione Cinquanta Vino Rosso d'Italia - Cantine San Marzano

The Collezione Cinquanta Vino Rosso d'Italia from Cantine San Marzano in Apulia is a tribute to the vision and passion of the winegrowers who founded the award-winning winegrowers' cooperative over 50 years ago to promote the region's excellent autochthonous grape varieties and produce expressive and sustainable wines from them.

The Collezione Cinquanta from Cantine San Marzano shines ruby red in the glass with purple reflections. The bouquet is intense and complex, with fruity notes of plum and jam, as well as spicy aromas of vanilla and liquorice. On the palate, this powerful red wine is full of flavor, has a great structure and is incredibly smooth. Long and persistent finish.

Vinification of the San Marzano Collezione Cinquanta Vino Rosso d'Italia

Typical, autochthonous grape varieties from the Salento wine-growing region in Apulia are pressed together for this impressive southern Italian red wine. Without exception, the vines are at least 50 years old and grow on skeleton-rich, not very deep, medium-heavy clay marl soils at around 100 m above sea level in summer, sometimes with quite warm periods with high moisture loss. The grapes are harvested manually in September when they are already slightly overripe. After destemming and cold maceration before fermentation, alcoholic fermentation follows, followed by gentle pressing and the removal of the wine. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing over a period of around 12 months take place in barriques made from high-quality French oak.

This red wine is characterized by the fact that it can retain its organoleptic properties, bouquet and taste unchanged for 7 years.

Recommendation for the Collezione Cinquanta San Marzano Vino Rosso d'Italia

Enjoy this exquisite Italian red wine from Cantine San Marzano in Apulia with red meat dishes, game dishes and pasta with flavorful sauces. Or as a meditation wine to round off a lovely evening, alone or with good friends.
