In the south of the Italian community of Montalcino lies the winery of Collosorbo, the Tenuta di Collosorbo. This traditional family business has been in existence in Tuscany since 1850. One of the best Italian wines is bottled here: The Brunello di Montalcino. It was first produced at the Tenuta di Collosorbo in 1966 by Guiseppe Ciacci. In 1955, as part of an inheritance, the company was spun off and passed to Giovanna Ciacci. She continues to run the company with the support of the oenologist Laura Sutera Sardo Lucia Sutera Sardo and delights with red wines that meet the highest standards.
Dedicated to wine
The winery is also one of the most famous in Italy. This is due not least to the power of women, the awareness of tradition and a wealth of expertise. On a total of 27 hectares, traditional grapes are grown, which are responsible for the noble taste of Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino. The slopes are between 200 and 400 meters above sea level and are mostly still cultivated by hand. The Tenuta di Collosorbo does not use machinery as much as possible to ensure that the grapes are treated with care. Three women are responsible for taking the greatest possible care of the wines, because they live for their wines AND their region.

The red wine Brunello di Montalcino knows to inspire with its cherry, cassis and herbal aromas. It is not only a great red wine, but also a legend. Wine experts are enthusiastic about the outstanding quality and let themselves be enticed by the highest scores in the evaluation of the wines. The same applies to the powerful red wine Rosso di Montalcino from the Tenuta di Collosorbo. The particularly delicate fruit aromas and the strong taste are very similar to Brunello, as the same grape variety is used for its production. However, the younger vines of the native Sangiovese Grosso grape variety are allowed to show their skills. They mature in young oak tanks, leave an impressive ruby red color in the glass and exude an aroma of cherries, wild berries and even some chocolate.
