The Cooperative Saint Saturnin is a winegrowing community located in the village of the same name, not far from Montpellier. Since 2018, it has been part of the Fonjoya group, in which it joined forces with the community of St. Félix-St. Jean.
The Cooperative Saint Saturnin and Fonjoya
The Cooperative Saint Satur nin has existed since the first half of the 20th century. It is located in the heart of the Cœur d'Hérault, a region in the Languedoc. With the rise in Fonjoya, the community's vineyards now stretch across several appellations:
- Terrasses du Larzac - Mediterranean climate with strong cooling spells
- Saint Saturnin - warm summers with abundant rainfall
- Mont Baudile / Saint Guilhem le Désert - high altitude vineyards which give freshness to the grapes
- AOP Languedoc - a mosaic of soils and historic grape varieties
This makes it possible to produce a wide variety of wines, with something to suit all tastes.
Terroir of the community
The red slate of Languedoc produces wines that age well, grey slate for mineral wines full of character, sandy soils for light white wines, temperature-regulating pebbly soils for Community Grenache, and the "Graves" soils for the prestigious wines of the house.
Whether red, white or rosé, the Community portfolio encompasses all varieties and offers both cuveés and single-varietal wines of each variety.
Responsibility for the future
Fonjoya and thus the Cooperative Saint Saturnin is committed to the progress of its members, as well as the fair remuneration of the producers. The promotion of young talent is also very close to the community's heart. It is also certified organic, a sign of the cooperative's sustainable approach.
