In the glass, the Costières de Nîmes AOC from Mas d'Andrum offers a dense purple color. If you give it some air in the glass by swirling, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in clear church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of Mas d'Andrum Costières de Nîmes flatters with nuances of mulberries, plums and black currants. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as black tea, gingerbread spice and vanilla.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a true quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities, and so this Frenchman naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky and fleshy. In the finish, this storable red wine from the wine-growing region of the Languedoc finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of black cherry and plum.

Vinification of Mas d'Andrum Costières de Nîmes

The starting point for Mas d'Andrum's premium and wonderfully powerful Costières de Nîmes cuvée is Grenache and Syrah grapes. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and gently broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, Mas d'Andrum Costières de Nîmes is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Costières de Nîmes from Mas d'Andrum

Drink this red wine from France ideally tempered at 15 - 18°C as an accompanying wine to vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
