More information

The powerful Côtes du Rhône M. Chapoutier shimmers into the glass with a dense purple color. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals delightfully complex aromas of black currant, blueberry, blackberry and mulberry, rounded out by oriental spices, vanilla and cinnamon.

This dry red wine from M. Chapoutier is just right for wine drinkers who can't drink their wine dry enough. The Côtes du Rhône already comes quite close to this, as it was pressed with just 0.7 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully silky and dense. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Côtes du Rhône flatters with a velvety feel on the palate, without lacking freshness. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Rhône Valley finally thrills with good length. There are again hints of black currant and blackberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by clay and limestone still join.

Vinification of the Côtes du Rhône by M. Chapoutier

The basis for the powerful Côtes du Rhône from the Rhône Valley are grapes from the Grenache and Syrah varieties. In the Rhône Valley, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. The grapes for this red wine from France are harvested exclusively by hand, at the time of optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully ground. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
