More information about Les Jalets Rouge - Paul Jaboulet Aîné

The Les Jalets Rouge of Paul Jaboulet Aîné of the Rhône Valley shows a brilliant purple color in the glass. After the first swirl, this red wine is characterized by a fascinating brilliance that makes it dance nimbly in the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from France presents delightfully complex aromas of blueberry, blackberry, black currant and mulberry, rounded out by other fruity nuances.

On the palate, the Les Jalets Rouge from Paul Jaboulet Aîné opens wonderfully aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Light on its feet and multi-faceted, this fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate. The final of this very ripe red wine from the wine-growing region of the Rhône Valley finally captivates with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by limestone and volcanic rock.

Vinification of Les Jalets Rouge by Paul Jaboulet Aîné

The basis for the elegant Les Jalets Rouge from the Rhône Valley are grapes from the grape variety Syrah. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Rhône Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and volcanic rock. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Les Jalets Rouge are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles. The aging in barrel is followed by a long aging in bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.

Food recommendation for the Les Jalets Rouge by Paul Jaboulet Aîné

This red wine from France is best enjoyed at a temperate 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to braised chicken in red wine, ossobuco or boeuf bourguignon.
