The powerful Cultor Cuveé from the house of Emil Bauer glides into the glass with a dense purple color. Swiveling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in strong church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the Cultor Cuveé presents notes of black cherries, plums and morello cherries. The fruity aspects of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as juniper, vanilla and oriental spices.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the icon wine segment, this German wine enchants with the finest balance despite its dryness. Taste does not necessarily need sugar. This dense red wine presents itself on the palate full of pressure and facets. The finale of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate, more precisely from Nußdorf, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by limestone and loess.

Vinification of the Cultor Cuveé by Emil Bauer

This powerful red wine from Germany is cuvéed from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. In the Palatinate region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, limestone and loess. The fact that the Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the development of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in French oak barrels.
