More information
The barrel-aged Cuvée M from the Rheinhessen winegrowing region reveals a dense crimson red in the glass. With a bit of side lay, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. The first nose of the Cuvée M flatters with of blackcurrants, blackberries and blueberries. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as cigar box, sun-warmed rock and toasted barrique.
On the palate, Weingut Manz's Cuvée M starts off pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. Some wines are dry, others bone dry. This red wine belongs to the latter, as it was bottled with only 0.9 g of residual sugar. Full-bodied and multi-faceted, this fleshy red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Cuvée M flatters with a pleasing mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of black currant and blueberry show. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone and marl dominated soils are added.
Vinification of the Manz Cuvée M Winery
The basis for the first-class and wonderfully powerful Cuvée Cuvée M from Weingut Manz are Cabernet Dorsa, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and marl. After harvesting, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in large wood at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
