From horses to wine - In 1912 Joseph Osborn parted company with his beloved racehorses in order to use the proceeds to acquire today's family winery d'Arenberg.
The heart and soul of Australian wine - d'Arenberg Winery
Since four generations the winery is still managed by the Osborn family. Chester Osborn is the current Chief Winemaker and enchants wine connoisseurs all over the world with his unmistakable wines according to traditional methods.
The name d'Arenberg is dedicated to the mother - Helena d'Arenberg - of the current owner Francis "d'Arry" Osborn.
The colourful d'Arenberg wine portfolio
The portfolio of d'Arenberg wines extends across the Australian classics
Shiraz
Cabernet Sauvignon

to Riesling and Mourvedre or noble sweet wines.
The vineyards in McLaren Vale
At d'Arenberg, each vineyard has its own personality, which is managed with minimal intervention in the natural characteristics. The McLaren Vale is 45 minutes from Adelaide and has 30 kilometres of breathtaking coastline and over 70 cellar doors. It is home to some of the oldest vines in the country and dates back to 1850. The proximity to the sea, the variety of soil types and the Mediterranean climate make it an idyllic place for viticulture and the home of d'Arenberg.
First Families of Wine
A change took place in 2009 in the Australian wine landscape. 12 of Australia's oldest family-run, multi-generational wine companies joined First Families of Wine - including d'Arenberg. Together they travelled the world to share their stories. Of success and failure - experience and commitment - and ultimately also of passion.
Award-winning - and with food since 2017
d'Arenberg is one of the most renowned houses in Australia. Every year the winery and the wines are awarded countless prizes. The Restaurant d'Arenberg Cube opened its doors on 14 December 2017. Not only the architecture is worth seeing - also the fine dishes with the matching d'Arenberg wines are a poem.
