The Pinotage Rosé from Delheim Wines shows a lively bright pink. The uniquely dense, fragrant bouquet of this rosé wine from South Africa is reminiscent of a fruit basket filled with sweet red raspberries, cranberries, wild strawberries and juicy light sweet cherries.
On the palate this Pinotage Rosé presents itself fresh, fruity, juicy and round. The pocky-fresh fruit acid is countered by a subtle, wonderfully melt-in-the-mouth sweetness, which perfectly balances this rosé from the Cape.
Vinification of the Pinotage Rosé from Delheim
This classic has been pressed since 1976. At that time Michael "Spatz" Sperling and his wife Vera created a real classic when they created the Pinotage Rosé in the first vintage. Regular awards and the multiple distinction as best rosé of the year (specialist magazine Weinwirtschaft) have made their Pinotage Rosé a legend. The Pinotage grapes for this wine grow on expressive clay and sandy soils in the community of Muldersvlei Bowl in the legendary Stellenbosch wine region.
The Delheim Rosé is mainly made from the red wine grape variety Pinotage, which is particularly typical for South Africa, to which a small proportion of fragrant Muscat grapes have been added. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected once again before mashing. The berries are then mashed, the must is left on the skins for only a short time and the delicate pinkish red must is then fermented.
Recommended food for the Delheim Pinotage Rosé
Enjoy this rosé solo as an aperitif or with ceviche, yellow pepper foam soup, chorizo carbonara and turkey gyros. This charming rosé is made from 90% Pinotage and 10% Muscat.
