Winery Desiderio N°1 in the heart of Veneto, a masterful piece of nature nestled deep in the foothills of the Italian Dolomites. This medieval Italian territory is known among wine lovers as the epicenter for the best Prosecco in the world, it is also the birthplace of Prosecco Superior Treviso DOC. However, the region is not only known for world-class Prosecco, there are also fabulous full-bodied reds and lightly fruity whites that also come from this unsurpassed terroir. The grapes of the Veneto are world famous and at Desiderio N°1 we have a passion for the region's remarkable Glera grapes. These form the basis for our Prosecco and Rosé Spumante which is blended with Pinot Noir grapes. Veneto is located north of Venice in the middle of the golden triangle between Conegliano, Valdobbiadene and Roncade and is bordered by the Piave River to the northeast and the Sile River to the southwest. Grapes have been grown in Veneto since the 12th century. The combination of steep slopes, clay and silt from the Piave River, and cool breezes from the Adriatic Sea create an ideal climate for growing vibrant, well-structured grapes with high acidity.

At Desiderio, they prefer to work with Mother Nature rather than against her. They do this by using biodynamic farming practices to ensure that every bottle of their wines are of the highest quality, made with only the best of nature. Grapes are grown without the use of pesticides, artificial fertilizers, synthetic chemicals or GMOs. They use nature's natural rhythms to capture optimal growing conditions and feed their soils with the highest quality natural compost for optimal grapes. Their biodynamic farming methods restore and revitalize their piece of this incredibly rare terroir so you can continue to create exceptional wines for years to come.

Each bottle Desiderio N°1 is lovingly crafted by the amazing Marco Geromel. Winemaking is an integral part of Marco's being. His grandfather is a winemaker, his father a winemaker, and he has always lived among vineyards. Through generations, the Geromel family has mastered the art of winemaking, which has led to Marco's deep passion for the art form that shines through in every bottle of our sparkling wine. Marco oversees and implements all aspects of the winemaking process. In Italian, this industry expert is called a vignaiolo. Grape varieties grown here are mainly:
