More information

The Die rote Versuchung from Weingut Krug in Lower Austria presents a dense, light red color in the swirled glass. If given some air by swirling, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which is evident in church windows at the rim of the glass. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of blueberry, mulberry, black currant and blackberry, rounded out by oriental spices, cinnamon and cocoa bean contributed by barrel aging.

Weingut Krug Die rote Versuchung delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the top wine range, this Austrian naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. The finale of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from Thermenregion, finally convinces with beautiful reverberation.

Vinification of the winery Krug Die rote Versuchung

The basis for the powerful Die rote Versuchung from Lower Austria are grapes from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zweigelt. Clearly, the Die rote Versuchung is also determined by climate and viticultural style Thermenregion. This Austrian can literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive manner. The maturation of the grapes for this wine of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Zweigelt is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Lower Austria, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the Die rote Versuchung is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
