Pedro Vivanco Gonzalez began planting vineyards for family use in the village of Alberite, La Rioja in 1915. In 1940 he bought a small wine shop.
Pedro Vivanco's son, Santiago, started bottling and selling wine in another bodega in the heart of Logroño's old quarter.
Today, in the fourth generation, it is Rafael Vivanco who continues the family tradition. He modernized the company and introduced new technologies.
The Dinastia Vivanco Bodega is located in Briones, Rioja, in the foothills of the Cantabrian mountain range, on the Ebro. It is an area with a mild microclimate and exceptional soils of calcareous clay, with old vines that produce a reduced and selected yield. Most of the 300 hectares of vineyards owned by the Vivanco family are located in Briones and Haro.
