Domaine de la Foliette - Muscadet from the Loire Valley
The Domaine de la Foliette is located in the Loire valley on the west coast of France. This region, near the town of Nantes, has been appreciated as a winegrowing region since very early in history. This is evidenced by a document from 1635, which was found here and proves the exchange of plots planted with white wine.
Since the establishment of the winery in 1996, Denis Brosseau and Eric Vincent have been working successfully together to produce Muscadet wines that are popular in Europe, the United States and Japan. The entrepreneurs have committed themselves to the Terra Vitis agreement: they consciously reduce their yields, select the ripe grapes in the vineyard and work in a sustainable way with great respect for our environment. All processing steps are carried out in-house.
Denis and Eric own 40 hectares of vineyards. These are spread over Haye-Fouassière, Haute-Goulaine and Vertou. The local (mica) slate, amphibolite and orthogneiss soils give the Foliette wines an uncomplicated freshness and fruitiness.
