The Domaines Paul Mas are wine producers in the Languedoc region, around the towns of Limoux, Montagnac and Marseillette. The group is one of the largest producers of quality wine in the south of France.
Domaine Paul Mas - from Auguste to Jean-Claude
In 1892, Auguste, Paul's grandfather, bought the first 9 hectares of vines near Montagnac. His son Raymond expanded this to 24 hectares in 1934. The history of Paul Mas starts in the Château of the same name in Pézenas, not far from the city of Montpellier. The Château was a remnant of the Domaine de Conas, which was divided up in the course of the French Revolution.
The château remained together with a mill and 27 hectares of land, which Raymond acquired in 1954. His son and namesake Paul expanded the vineyard once again, to 120 hectares, before Jean-Claude, Paul's son, took over 35 hectares from his father in 1987. Thirteen years later, he finally founded the DomainePaul Mas.

Domaine Paul Mas today
Today, the Domaines Paul Mas cover about 750 hectares of vineyards in the Languedoc, of which 20% are certified organic. In addition, there are about 1500 hectares of contractual partners who also deliver grapes for the wines of Paul Mas. 45 different grape varieties are cultivated, spread all over the Languedoc. This results in a great variety, which represents the region in all its facets.
Jean-Claude is very focused on the quality of his wines. According to his conception, luxury is not always equal to high quality, however, quality is always luxurious by itself, so that one should pay attention to it in order to keep one's flag high.
