The AAA Dominio de Valdepusa from Marques de Grinon is an outstanding, limited top-quality red wine made from the Graciano and Petit Verdot grape varieties. This red wine owes its name to the daughters of Carlos Falcó. All three daughters - Alejandra, Tamara, Aldara - have their own personality, which the winemaker wants to express in this wine. Each daughter has the letter A three times in her name.
In the glass an intense black-blue colour shines with violet reflections. The intense bouquet is carried by lush aromas of fresh mint and red roses. This is accompanied by notes of black fruit - especially plum and raspberry - and exotic spices. On the palate this excellent structured red wine convinces with a fleshy structure, which is interwoven with silky tannins. The finish of this Spanish wine is surprisingly long and precise.
Vinification of the Marques de Grinon AAA
From 14 year old vines in the Spanish growing region D.O. Dominio de Valdepusa are the grapes for this limited edition wine. The vines grow on limestone and clayey soils in flat locations (high plateau).
The grapes are harvested very carefully by hand and selected strictly in the vineyard. A second selection of the grapes takes place in the wine cellar and then the grapes are gently pressed. The resulting mash is fermented in stainless steel tanks. After the fermentation process is completed, this red wine matures for 30 months in new French oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the AAA Dominio de Valdepusa Marques de Grinon
This dry red wine from Spain is an excellent soloist, which should be decanted early. But also to game dishes in dark sauce this wine is a pleasure.
