More information about Edizione Farnese Cinque Autoctoni Wooden Case Magnum - Farnese

The multi-award-winning Edizione Farnese Cinque Autoctoni Wooden Case Magnum from the wine-growing region of Apulia presents itself in the glass in a brilliantly shimmering purple red. If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition in the color of the wine towards the edges of this barrel-aged wine. With a little time in the glass, this red wine from Italy presents wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, plum, mulberry and morello cherry, rounded off by cinnamon, oriental spices and gingerbread spice, which are contributed by the ageing in wooden barrels.

This wine impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, this light-footed red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense and silky texture. The finish of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Apulia, or more precisely from Puglia IGT, impresses with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Edizione Farnese Cinque Autoctoni Wooden Case Magnum from Farnese

The basis for the elegant Edizione Farnese Cinque Autoctoni Wooden Case Magnum from Puglia are grapes from the Malvasia Nera, Montepulciano, Negroamaro, Primitivo and Sangiovese grape varieties. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
