More information
The Schloss Proschwitz Elbling is a first-class white wine in the glass. In this it offers a wonderfully brilliant, light yellow color. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from Germany reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of jasmine, nashi pear, pear and lime, rounded off by juniper, lovage and garrigue.
This white wine from Schloss Proschwitz is the right choice for those who like as little sweetness in their wine as possible. At the same time, it never appears meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed white wine is wonderfully light and crisp. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Elbling is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Saxony, more precisely from Meissen, finally thrills with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the soils dominated by loess and granite.
Vinification of the Elbling of Proschwitz Castle
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Scheurebe. For this exceptionally elegant varietal wine from Schloss Proschwitz, only first-class grapes were brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Saxony. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of granite and loess. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
Food recommendation for Elbling from Schloss Proschwitz
This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to coconut-lime fish curry, omelet with salmon and fennel or wok vegetables with fish.
