More information

The barrel-aged Enemigo Mio from the wine-growing region of Murcia offers itself in the glass in bright purple. This single varietal Spanish wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of morello cherry, black cherry, plum and damson in the glass. This is joined by hints of black tea, oriental spices and cocoa bean.

This Spanish wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with only 2.7 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this Spaniard naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily require sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety. With its present fruit acidity, the Enemigo Mio is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of Murcia, more precisely from the Jumilla DO, finally convinces with a beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and limestone.

Vinification of the Casa Rojo Enemigo Mio

The basis for the balanced Enemigo Mio from Murcia are grapes from the Garnacha grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Murcia. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand, limestone, shale and gravel. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately sent to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Enemigo Mio is aged for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Casa Rojo Enemigo Mio

Experience this red wine from Spain ideally tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as a companion to duck breast with sugar snap peas, braised chicken in red wine or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
