Femar Vini - a family story

It all begins in the 20's when Manlio Mergè starts his production of wine and oil. Manlio transfers his passion to his son Armando, who in the 70's establishes the family business in the area of Frascati, Monte Porzio Catone and the Agro Romano. Thanks to the quality of the production and the constant commitment of Armando, in a few years the winery acquires a name in the wine scene of the Castelli Romani region. In 1995, after having closely followed the most interesting national and international wine scenes, Felice Mergè transformed the company founded by his father Armando into Femar Vini.

In more recent times

The company can rely on its grapes and on the wines of the associated wineries, which allow it to offer its clientele a varied productive selection. Felice 's expertise , his eagerness to experiment, his zeal and love for the land where he grew up, which have increased over the years, lead the company's production to a higher level, both in quality and quantity. Today Femar represents the ingenuity of Felice and the passion of Armando: Femar is in fact an acronym for Felice Mergè Armando and embodies the spirit of the third generation of the Mergè family, committed to innovation but extremely respectful of the territory and tradition.

The regions of Femar Vini

Three regions now form the basis of Femar wines:

• Abruzzo
• Puglia
• Sicily
• Lazio

Lazio is home to a wide variety of grape varieties, such as Syrah, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malvasia Puntinata, Trebbiano and Chardonnay. From Puglia come Primitivo, Negroamaro and Fiano. Abruzzo provides the classic Montepulciano, and finally Nero d'Avola from Sicily.

Femar Vini and Epicurus

Today,Femar Vini offers various collections under its umbrella. The Epicuro line stands out, representing the winery's foremost line, in their own words "the beating heart". Inspired by Epicurus, philosopher and founder of one of the most important philosophical schools of the Hellenic and Roman times, Epicuro is the commercial collection dedicated to the highest Epicurean concept: pleasure. And pleasure for the Mergè family can only happen through wine, ally and savior in every moment of life, according to the original meaning of the word "Epicurus" in ancient Greek. The family of Epicuro wines is very broad, they are wines with a strong personality, all with Protected Designation of Origin and Protected Geographical Indication. The flagship of the collection are the Selection wines, each with its own personality and unique characteristics.

Excellent wines

The wines of Femar Vini regularly attract attention in the wine world, and today they can boast several awards from well-known critics and competitions. Names such as Luca Maroni regularly award scores beyond 95 to the wines, and silver and gold medals in competitions such as the Berlin Wine Trophy or Mundus Vini "are in the closet".
