in 2001, González Byass took on the Finca Constancia winery in the Spanish province of Toledo, in the municipality of Otero. Since then, a lot has happened. There was a complete reconstruction in 2005 - the opening took place in 2006. Today it is a state-of-the-art winery that vinifies wonderful quality wines. The winery integrates perfectly into the landscape and is equipped with the latest technology.
Finca Constancia borders the Sierra de Gredos to the north - the Montes de Toledo to the south. The climate is extremely continental-Mediterranean. Winters are cold and summers are very hot. Due to the moderate rainfall of about 500 liters per year during the ripening period, the vines are rather rarely affected by fungal diseases and the yields are of uniform quality.
In the wine cellar of Finca Constancia there are 1200 oak barrels - of which about 50% are American and 50% French oak. The barrels have an average age of only 3 years.
Parcel wines from a single estate
The winery owns a total of 82 different parcels planted with a selection of grape varieties. They are:
- Verdejo
- Sauvignon Blanc
- Tempranillo
- Syrah
- Graciano
The wines of Finca Constancia are full of fruit as well as aromas and have a wonderful elegance, structure and complexity. The basic idea is to vinify single plot wines so that the maximum potential can always be drawn from each grape variety and each plot.
