Bottega's Fragolino Rosso Frizzante from Veneto comes into the glass with bright cherry red and purple hues. This sparkling wine smells like no other of its kind of ripe juicy strawberries, freshly made strawberry ice cream and hints of white chocolate with dried strawberry pieces. Bottega's Fragolino Rosso flatters the palate with pleasant sweetness, a fresh taste and a delicate, not too dominant tingle. Once again, strawberry aromas of any color delight the palate.
Vinification of Bottega Fragolino Rosso Frizzante
The Fragolino of the present is a tribute to the Isabella vine, also known as Clinton or Fragola. This grape variety was the saving straw for many winemakers, especially after the phylloxera disaster, because it is extraordinarily resistant. Today, Isabella is rarely used for winemaking in Italy, but Bottega still wanted to memorialize it and created Fragolino Frizzante, a wine-based beverage that perfectly captures the charm, intense strawberry fruitiness and pleasant, fresh sweetness of old-style Fragolino.
