More information
The Fundament Rosé from the Wageck winery in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz is an appealing, harmonious and fruity-fresh rosé wine cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder and Pinot Noir.
In the glass, this wine shines in a rich rosé hue with bright cherry red highlights. The nose delights in a potpourri of juicy ripe berries. Starting with strawberries and raspberries, blackberries and blueberries, black and red currants. The berry aroma is perfectly underpinned by mineral hints. On the palate, this German rosé convinces with its wonderfully fresh-fruity personality and a wonderfully fine acid structure.
Vinification of the Fundament Wageck Rosé
The grapes for this cuvée are hand-picked in vats in mid to late September. The vines grow in the plots of Bissersheim and Großkarlbach.
As soon as the grapes arrive at the Wageck winery, they are crushed. After a short maceration period, part of the juice is extracted from the red wine mash. This mash is then cool fermented in stainless steel tanks. In old barrique barrels, 50% of this rosé wine is spontaneously fermented.
