More information

This single varietal Austrian wine shows wonderfully expressive notes of nectarines, gooseberries, vineyard peaches and peaches in the glass. These are joined by hints of cocoa bean, cinnamon and gingerbread spice.

On the palate, Leo Hillinger's Gelber Muskateller opens pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and balanced. On the palate, the texture of this fleet-footed white wine presents itself wonderfully light and crisp. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Gelber Muskateller presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful from the wine region the Burgenland finally thrilled with good length. There are again hints of nectarine and mirabelle. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by black earth and loess soil join in.

Vinification of the Leo Hillinger Gelber Muskateller

This elegant white wine from Austria is organically vinified from the Gelber Muskateller grape variety. In Burgenland, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess, volcanic rock and black earth. The grapes for this white wine from Austria, after ensuring optimal ripeness, are harvested exclusively by hand. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for Leo Hillinger Gelber Muskateller

This white wine from Austria is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to Jamaican chicken legs with pineapple salad, omelet with salmon and fennel, or spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto.
