More information
The bouquet of this white wine from Lower Austria enchants with notes of mango, cherry blossom, lime and orange. If we trace the aromatics further, Mediterranean herbs, juniper and green peppers are added.
The Johann Topf Gelber Muskateller Strassertal presents itself to the wine lover pleasantly dry. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the high quality wine range. On the tongue, this light-footed white wine is characterized by an incredibly crisp and silky texture. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Gelber Muskateller Strassertal presents itself as fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of grapefruit and mirabelle appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Gelber Muskateller Strassertal by Johann Topf
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Gelber Muskateller. For this wonderfully elegant varietal wine from Johann Topf, only the best grapes were brought in. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Lower Austria. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.
Food recommendation for the Gelber Muskateller Strassertal by Johann Topf
This white wine from Austria is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to baked sheep's cheese parcels, yogurt mousse with poppy seeds or blackberry cream dessert.
