More information
With the Bouchard Père & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin comes a first-class red wine in the wine glass. In this it shows a wonderfully brilliant, bright red color. At the edge there is also a color transition to garnet red. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling, this red wine is characterized by an immense lightness that makes it dance lively in the glass. This single varietal French wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, rum pot, wild berry jam and blueberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of black tea, roasted hazelnut and walnut.
On the palate, the Gevrey-Chambertin of Bouchard Père & Fils starts wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Light on its feet and complex, this creamy and melting red wine presents itself on the palate. The finale of this well-maturing red wine from the Burgundy wine-growing region, more precisely from Cote de Nuits and Haute Cotes de Nuits, finally thrills with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by limestone and marl.
Vinification of the Bouchard Père & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin
This elegant red wine from France is vinified from the Pinot Noir grape variety. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in Burgundy. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of limestone and marl. Gevrey-Chambertin is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Gevrey-Chambertin are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, the Gevrey-Chambertin is aged for several months in French oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Bouchard Père & Fils Gevrey-Chambertin
Drink this red wine from France best tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as an accompanying wine to stuffed peppers, red onions stuffed with couscous and apricots or pasta with sausage dumplings.
