More information about Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon - Kellerei Schreckbichl

In the glass, the Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon from the Schreckbichl winery reveals a bright purple-red color. After the first swirl, you can perceive a first-class balance in this red wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully fragrant and complex aromas of wild berry jam, blueberry, plum jam and raisins, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.

This red wine from Kellerei Schreckbichl is ideal for all wine drinkers who like as little residual sweetness in their wine as possible. However, it is never austere or brittle, but round and smooth. On the palate, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly powerful and dense texture. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon flatters the palate with a soft sensation without lacking in juicy liveliness. On the finish, this very storable wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region impresses with its exceptional length. Once again, there are hints of prunes and fruit bread. Mineral notes from the limestone and sand-dominated soils are added to the finish.

Vinification of the Schreckbichl Winery Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon

The basis for the well-balanced Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon from Trentino-Alto Adige are grapes from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of sand and limestone. The Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for several months in oak barriques.

Dining recommendation for the Lafóa Cabernet Sauvignon from Kellerei Schreckbichl

Ideally, drink this red wine from Italy moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompaniment to veal boiled beef with beans and tomatoes, lemon-chilli chicken with bulgur or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
