More information
In the glass, the Gewürztraminer les Princes Abbés Alsace from Domaines Schlumberger has a bright copper-golden color. After the first swirl, you can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from France reveals wonderfully youthful aromas of gooseberry, dried apricot, mango and lemon, rounded off with other fruity nuances.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 22.6 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a premium and single-vineyard wine, this French wine naturally delights with the finest balance despite its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. The Gewürztraminer les Princes Abbés Alsace can rightly be described as exceptionally fruity and velvety, as it was vinified with a pleasantly sweet taste profile. The texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully dense on the palate. On the finish, this white wine from the Alsace wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of mango and acacia. Mineral notes from the sand and sandstone-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of Domaines Schlumberger Gewürztraminer les Princes Abbés Alsace
The balanced Gewürztraminer les Princes Abbés Alsace from France is a single-varietal wine made from the Gewürztraminer grape variety. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sand and sandstone soils in Alsace. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
