More information
The powerful Gigondas M. Chapoutier shines into the glass with a dense purple color. Swiveling the glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, evident in strong church windows at the rim of the glass. This French cuvée reveals wonderfully expressive notes of blueberries, black currants, blackberries and mulberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of dark chocolate, oriental spices and cinnamon.
The M. Chapoutier Gigondas impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this Frenchman enchants naturally with all dryness with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of sugar. This dense red wine is full-bodied and multilayered on the palate. In the finish, this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Rhône Valley finally thrills with considerable length. There are again hints of blackberry and mulberry. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by sand and marl are added.
Vinification of the Gigondas from M. Chapoutier
This powerful red wine from France is cuvée from the grape varieties Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. The grapes grow in optimal conditions in the Rhône Valley. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay, sand, limestone and marl. Gigondas is an Old World wine through and through, as this Frenchman exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. When perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Gigondas are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective grape harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for the M. Chapoutier Gigondas
Enjoy this red wine from France ideally tempered at 15 - 18 ° C as an accompanying wine to cabbage roulades, stuffed peppers or roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce.
